Lupercalia is almost here! The valiant contestants are studying and the feastocrat is preparing her aromatic concoctions.
And for the rest of us?
In addition to watching the gallant contestants vie for the honor of their dulcet consorts, there will be prize tourneys for both heavy fighting and rapier. At the request of Her Excellency these will be Treasure Chest Tourneys: those wishing to compete should bring a small prize (approx $10 value). Promissory notes for custom items will be fine. At the culmination of the tourney each fighter will get to pick their prize from the pile in the order in which they place.
As in past years, there will be a Wooden Spoon Contest in the field of Crock Pot Soups. Period recipes are admirable, but are not not required for entry. The populace will be encouraged to taste test the entries throughout the afternoon. The winner will be chosen by the accolade of the people and will be awarded the illustrious and storied Allyshian Wooden Spoon as this years champion.
In addition, there will be myriad Art & Science workshops. There will be dancing for the nimble, drumming for the rhythmic, and wire weaving for those that want something a little quieter.
